Please note we offer a maximum of 5 free fabric samples per customer pre order.

If your request exceeds this amount unfortunately your sample/swatch order will not be processed. Please note that there is a small charge for ColourMe samples.

Please note to ensure we can despatch your order as quickly as possible, samples orders need to be placed individually and not to be included with your paid order.

Why order a fabric sample?

At funki fabrics we understand the importance of seeing and touching a fabric sample to help you decide whether it meets your requirements. Whilst we try to include on our website a thorough product description, technical properties and a variety of images, we recognize that there is no substitute for holding and stretching a fabric yourself. Your own sample will allow you to assess it's weight, quality and performance so that you can establish whether it will work for your individual project.

Furthermore you'll see with you own eyes the true colour or colours and be confident in your choice. Where an exact colour match is particularly important then a sample is absolutely essential. At funki fabrics we continually invest in our photographic technology and sophisticated digital cad software. It is our priority that the images we use on our site are of the best quality and offer a realistic interpretation of each fabric. However we cannot control each customer's browsing environment. Potentially each device used to browse our site could be configured differently and this could impact on the visual output. Therefore quality and colours could be affected. To safeguard yourself we advise you to order a sample of your chosen fabric in advance of placing your order for actual metres.

How much are samples?

Currently samples are offered free of charge. We would like to continue to offer this free service however to allow us to suffer the costs involved we must control the number of samples we offer to each customer to 5.

Although our website will allow you to order limitless samples, we will not be able to send more than 5. We therefore encourage customers to choose samples carefully and select only those samples that they truly require and not to order in excess.

Our customer service team are on hand to help you decide which fabric Samples might suit your requirements, therefore if you are finding it difficult to choose by yourself then please contact us and take advantage of their expertise. Employees of funkifabrics cannot advise you on how much fabric is required for your individual project. For orders of more than 5 samples which will not be fulfilled, our customer service may contact you.

For our international clients samples are also offered free of charge. A small notional charge of £2.00 will be collected from customers outside of the EU as a contribution towards the postage costs.

Printed and Foiled sample requests

It is not always possible for us to send the foiled print sample if stock of that particular item is not made up. The manufacture process of a foiled print is a minimum of 10m, meaning samples of a specific design may not be available. If a foiled sample cannot be sent, the plain printed version will be sent. We will make every effort where possible, to send the foiled sample request.

Can I pay for extra samples?

If you would prefer to order a large selection of samples then we would be happy to oblige however a small cost will apply. Please refer to our Sample Bundle product which will allow you to order and pay for additional samples. Bundles of 10, 15, 20 or 25 samples (inclusive of the 5 offered free of charge) are available for a small fee. Just add the samples of your choice to your basket along with this product (selecting the appropriate bundle), checkout and wait for your samples to arrive. You must be sure to add the correct Sample Bundle otherwise your order may not be processed.

How quickly will I receive my samples?

Sample orders are typically despatched with 1-3 working days. For urgent orders please contact us and we will make every effort to despatch your order to suit your individual timeframe.

How and when are samples sent?

Sample orders are sent by first class Royal Mail or by another Royal Mail service for our international clients. When samples are ordered at the same time as a chargeable product, then the samples will be sent with the order. This may cause your order to be slightly delayed and the standard lead times detailed in delivery matrix may be affected.

What size are samples?

Samples are not a uniform size. They are approximately at least 10cm square and most prints are approximately 15cm square. We are confident that our free of charge samples are a sufficient size for our customers to assess.

What are print collection sample sheets?

We regularly release new prints which we package and unveil as collections throughout the year. Each collection consist of between 30 and 50 designs so to make it more convenient for customers to sample these new products, we print all designs per collection together on a single piece of fabric, this way our customers have a more transportable product to share or use as a useful reference too.
